At a press conference on Saturday, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut called the event a "grand celebration" and a victory for the Marathi people.

"This celebration is the result of the relentless efforts of the MNS and Shiv Sena," he stated.

"People from every corner of Maharashtra are participating. The two brothers are coming together for the cause of the Marathi community."

The event is scheduled to begin at 11:30 AM, starting with the Maharashtra Rajya Geet, followed by a performance from the Koli community band of Worli Koliwada.

Raut also aimed at the ruling government, demanding an apology from Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, saying, "They owe Maharashtra an apology."

He further alleged that Shinde is repeatedly insulting the state.

Reflecting on Maharashtra's heritage, Raut said, "This is a land once ruled by the great Gaikwads and Bhosles - a rich legacy we must honour."

He also remarked that Shiv Sena's roots run deep, saying, "Shiv Sena is older than Chief Minister Fadnavis himself; it existed even before he was born."

The celebration of Marathi Vijay Diwas is set to take place today at the NSCI Dome in Worli, following the Maharashtra government's decision to revoke two controversial government resolutions (GRs) concerning the implementation of the three-language policy in schools.
