A 31-year-old serial molester, who was employed as a chauffeur, has been arrested by the Worli police for sexually assaulting teens and small children on the pretext of asking address

A 31-year-old serial molester was arrested by the Worli police on Friday for molesting teens and small children on pretext of asking address.

On Friday, the accused Deepak Mane picked up a 14-year-old girl, took her to Century Mill and started misbehaving with her. The girl raised the alarm and told Mane that she is daughter of policeman, which scared Mane and he left the girl.

After the incident, the cops went to Mill and enquired with the security guards. They had taken the car's number with which the cops traced the woman. From woman, the cops got Mane's address and arrested him on Friday late night.

The accused Deepak Mane is a driver by profession and is employed as a chauffeur by a working woman professional in Mulund since March 2016 and gets paid 14 thousand per month salary. The woman works for Worli based company and Mane's job was to pick up and drop her from Mulund to her Worli office. Since he had free time in the afternoon, Mane would take the car and roam around in the area looking for girls roaming alone.

Two weeks back, Mane had approached a 22-year-old woman asking for address. He asked her to sit in the car and later molested her. The police officials said that Mane would threaten to kill them if they complain.

Senior police inspector Vinay Kulkarni said, "We suspect the accused has targeted more girls in the area. We have asked people to come ahead and file complaint if they know anything about it."

Mane also has previous criminal background. He was arrested by Mulund police in 2011 in a robbery case.

Mane earlier worked as driver with online transportation network company.
