As many as 743 electricity consumers had their complaints resolved during a three-day customer satisfaction camp organised by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) across the Panvel City Division.
The camps were held from August 17 to 19 to help consumers resolve grievances locally and provide information about MSEDCL's schemes, services and facilities.
MSEDCL organised 16 camps across four subdivisions of the Panvel City Division.
These included Kharghar- 2 camps, Panvel- 3 camps, Taloja- 8 camps and Uran- 3 camps
A total of 743 consumers attended the camps, and MSEDCL said all 743 complaints were addressed on the spot.
Taloja recorded the highest participation, with 360 consumers attending the camps. All the complaints raised by them were resolved.
Panvel recorded 158 consumers, while 156 consumers attended the camps in Kharghar. Uran had 69 participants.
Most of the grievances raised by consumers were related to electricity billing.
MSEDCL said that while 743 billing-related complaints were raised, only two bills required corrections. Officials checked the remaining bills and found them to be accurate.
The officials also explained the different charges and components of the electricity bills to consumers.
In another case, a consumer requested an inspection of their electricity meter.
MSEDCL officials checked the meter in the presence of the consumer. The consumer subsequently expressed satisfaction with the meter's accuracy.
The camps were organised on the directions of Sanjay Patil, Chief Engineer, Bhandup Zone, and under the guidance of Deepak Patil, Superintendent Engineer, Vashi Circle.
Patil said the camps were aimed at providing consumers with prompt and transparent services while giving them an opportunity to raise their concerns directly with MSEDCL officials.
He also urged consumers to make use of such camps to resolve complaints and obtain information about the schemes and services available to them.
The initiative is intended to strengthen local-level grievance redressal and make MSEDCL services more accessible to electricity consumers across the Panvel City Division.
