Std IV students in the state to learn about Shivaji, the management guru

Standard IV textbooks will now have a chapter on Shivaji Maharaj as a management guru, Education Minister Vinod Tawde said yesterday.

The eight-page lesson would be incorporated in school curriculum from next academic year, the minister said. "Everybody knows his valour, but not many know that he was an administrator as well," Tawde said.

Students will get to know this facet of Shivaji Maharaj as well, the minister said after an event at Mantralaya to celebrate Shiv Jayanti, birth anniversary of the Maratha king. He added that next year's texbooks will also be more colourful.
