A large number of devotees gathered at the Lalbaugcha Raja pandal in Mumbai on Tuesday, September 22, the ninth day of the 12-day Ganesh festival, as crowds continued to visit the popular shrine to offer prayers and seek blessings from Lord Ganesha.
The annual festival has drawn large crowds across Mumbai, with several prominent Ganesh pandals witnessing a steady flow of devotees. Lalbaugcha Raja remains one of the major attractions during the celebrations, with people arriving from different parts of Mumbai and other places to offer prayers.
The Lalbaugcha Raja pandal witnessed a significant gathering on the ninth day of the festival. Devotees were seen making their way to the pandal for darshan and prayers as the celebrations entered their final phase.
The festival, which is observed over 10 days, has been marked by large gatherings at prominent Ganesh pandals across Mumbai. With only a few days remaining before the conclusion of the celebrations, devotees have continued to visit Lalbaugcha Raja in large numbers.
Lalbaugcha Raja is among Mumbai's best-known public Ganesh idols. The idol was established in 1934 by local fishermen and traders, and the pandal has since become an important part of the city's annual Ganesh festival.
The idol is widely associated with the belief that prayers made at the shrine can help devotees fulfil their wishes. It is popularly regarded as a Ganesha idol associated with wish fulfilment, which has contributed to its popularity over the years.
The pandal's long history and its association with Mumbai's Ganesh festival have also made it a prominent destination during the celebrations. The large number of visitors each year has turned the area around Lalbaug into one of the key gathering points during the festival.
The heavy footfall has also required arrangements to manage crowds and ensure the smooth movement of devotees visiting the pandal.
Several Bollywood celebrities and public figures have also visited Lalbaugcha Raja during this year's Ganesh festival.
Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan recently visited the pandal with his wife Gauri Khan and daughter Suhana Khan. The family attended the aarti and offered prayers to Lord Ganesha as part of the festival celebrations.
Shah Rukh Khan was seen wearing a blue kurta, while Gauri Khan wore a yellow outfit and Suhana Khan was dressed in a green salwar suit.
Actor Ranveer Singh also visited Lalbaugcha Raja during the Ganesh festival. He arrived at the pandal wearing a traditional white kurta-pyjama and was accompanied by security personnel.
With the Ganesh festival approaching its conclusion, large crowds have continued to gather at prominent pandals across Mumbai. Lalbaugcha Raja, in particular, has remained a major destination for devotees throughout the celebrations.
