Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) does not need “crutches” to function in Maharashtra, stressing that the party draws its strength from its own cadre and ideology

Addressing workers after laying the foundation stone of the new Maharashtra BJP office near Churchgate Station in Mumbai, the Union Home Minister urged the BJP workers to work relentlessly to ensure a clean sweep in the upcoming local body elections

He emphasised that a party failing to uphold democracy within its own ranks cannot protect it nationally — a remark directed at dynastic political outfits

Reflecting on his own journey from a booth president to national president, Shah said the BJP is built on democratic values where hard work, and not family connections, determines growth

The new state BJP office, spread across 55,000 sq ft, will house a library, meeting and conference rooms, a 400-seat auditorium, and offices for the state party president and the chief minister. Shah added that the facility would also include accommodation for party workers
