The Mumbai Traffic Police closed both lanes of the subway and diverted traffic through alternate routes

Pumping systems are working to remove the water, and the situation is being monitored closely, sources said

Mumbai on Monday continued to witness heavy rains leading to waterlogging in parts of the city

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for the city and its surrounding areas

The IMD warned of extremely heavy rain at isolated spots, leading the city’s civic body to declare a holiday for schools and colleges operating in the second half of the day

As the rains subsided and water was drained out, the Andheri Subway was reopened to traffic, sources said
