Celebrations erupted among Rawat’s supporters and Shiv Sena (UBT) members after her victory was declared at the counting centre at Gundavali Mumbai Public School in Andheri East
Shiv Sena (UBT) has so far won 19 of the 163 seats it contested. The party is in an alliance with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) in Mumbai
Some of the other prominent winners of Shiv Sena (UBT) are Sunil More (ward 123), Milind Vaidya (ward 182), Hemangi Varlikar (ward 193), Ramakant Rahate (ward 208)
Rawat is embraced by women supporters after her victory
A large number of Rawat’s supporters had gathered outside the counting centre. Following her victory, celebrations erupted, prompting police to prevent them from rushing inside the centre
Rawat defeated Dipti Waikar, the daughter of sitting Bharatiya Janata Party Ravindra Waikar to register her victory
