Meanwhile,  the Maharashtra government tabled supplementary demands totalling Rs 57,509.71 crore in the state legislative assembly. These additional funds are sought to allocate resources for various schemes and projects

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who also holds the portfolios of state finance and planning minister, presented these demands on the inaugural day of the three-week monsoon session

The government has primarily allocated these funds for infrastructure projects, including roads, metro rail, and irrigation schemes, as well as for the planning and execution of the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela
