Usually crowded with tourists, joggers and sea-facing visitors, Marine Drive appeared comparatively quieter during the peak afternoon hours

Mumbai has been witnessing hot and humid weather conditions over the past weeks

The combination of warm temperatures and high moisture in the air has increased discomfort levels across several parts of the city, particularly in coastal areas in city

Many visitors and tourists are preferring to stay indoors during afternoon hours

Some were seen sitting in shaded areas as temperatures remained uncomfortable throughout the day

Mumbai was on Wednesday expected to witness maximum and minimum temperatures of around 35 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD)

A weather bulletin, issued in the morning, stated that the city was expected to witness mainly clear skies on May 13

By evening, the city’s skies were cloudy

Thick clouds were witnessed near the coastal areas in Mumbai
