The incident occurred at the sweet shop, located in Ashar Metro Tower in the Vartak Nagar area of Thane (West)

The fire was reported to the disaster management control room at around 9:18 am

According to the officials, preliminary information suggests that the fire started in an inverter battery placed on a loft area inside the shop

The blaze quickly spread to nearby materials, including electrical wiring, cardboard and a wooden cupboard

Officials stated that no one was injured in the incident. However, the fire caused damage to the inverter battery, electrical fittings and other items within the shop
