The IMD in its weather bulletin predicted that parts of Maharashtra including Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg, are likely to receive heavy rains

With parts of Maharashtra including Mumbai experiencing heavy rains since Monday, June 16, the IMD has predicted more showers in the coming days

Earlier in the day, the IMD said that the city and its suburbs will remain under generally cloudy skies, with intense rainfall likely at a few locations

The IMD's Santacruz observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 32.6 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 26.1 degrees Celsius on Thursday

Mumbai recorded an average rainfall of 86 mm between 8 am on June 18 and 8 am on June 19

The eastern suburbs of Mumbai received 65 mm, while the western suburbs recorded 53 mm during the same period

With the city witnessing heavy rains since earlier this week, the scenic Powai Lake in Mumbai overflowed on Wednesday morning
