A weather bulletin on May 31 stated that Mumbai was expected to remain hot and humid for most of the day and the temperatures are likely to stay between 29 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius

The humidity made outdoor conditions more uncomfortable, leading to fewer people venturing out during peak afternoon hours
