The gathering, which saw participation from students, activists, and citizens from across the city, was marked by calls for peace, justice, and humanitarian aid

 The protest remained peaceful throughout, with participants underscoring the importance of unity and compassion in the face of humanitarian crises

Meanwhile, three Palestinians died in Gaza today due to famine and malnutrition, according to hospital records in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of victims of famine and malnutrition to 266, including 112 children

The Israeli military said Wednesday that the country's defence minister has approved plans to begin a new phase of operations in some of Gaza's most densely populated areas, and that it would call up 60,000 reservists and lengthen the service of an additional 20,000 reservists currently serving

Since March 2, 2025, Israeli forces have reportedly closed all crossings with the Gaza Strip, making it difficult for people to have access to food and medical aid, which has also led to the spread of famine in the territory

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) had warned that malnutrition among children under the age of five had doubled between March and June as a result of the continuing blockade
