During the visit, officials briefed him on conditions in Mumbai city and suburbs, as well as in Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and other affected districts

Pawar directed district administrations, disaster management agencies, and local bodies to remain alert

Residents in flood- and landslide-prone areas should be relocated immediately to safe locations, and NDRF and SDRF teams must remain ready for rescue and relief operations, said Pawar

He also instructed authorities to carry out prompt assessments of damage to crops, houses, and other property, with reports to be submitted to the state government

Departments were asked to coordinate effectively to ensure uninterrupted services, including hospitals, schools, relief centres, roads, bridges, electricity, and water supply

The Deputy Chief Minister emphasised that these measures are essential to ensure the safety of citizens and the effective management of the ongoing rainfall situation
