The fire was reported at waste stockyards within the Naval Dockyard premises

"The blaze was quickly brought under control by Naval fire tenders, who responded swiftly to the incident," a Naval spokesperson said

Officials confirmed that there were no casualties and no injuries have been reported

The waste stockyards are located diagonally opposite the Gateway of India in Colaba, one of the city’s prominent landmarks

An official statement issued by a Naval spokesperson said, "A fire broke out in one of the waste stockyards at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai late evening on Feb 12, 2026. Fire was brought under control in swift action by Naval fire tenders. No casualty has been reported. The cause of the fire is being investigated"
