"This will be a significant step in completion of line since other civil work is now complete," said a Western Railway spokesperson. Blocks were undertaken between Jogeshwari and Ram Mandir stations on the 6th line and at Dahisar for launching of girders. Some suburban services were also cancelled during the block period

MMRDA officials said the Pink Line 6 is a crucial line with interchanges with four metro lines. It has interchanges with Bangur Nagar station of Yellow Line-2A, JVLR station of Red Line-7, Aarey Depot station of Aqua Line-3 and Gandhi Nagar of Green Line-4 at different locations

The line has 13 stations and most of the alignment is passing on the median of Jogeshwari-Vikhroli link road

At a point in Andheri near Mahakali Nagar, out of 4.7km length, about 2.5km line has been combined with the Pink line and constructed on the same single pier at road median to provide an addition transport facility in collaboration with the BMC

The 13 stations along the line include Swami Samarth Nagar near Lohkandwala, Adarsh Nagar, Jogeshwari west, JVLR, Shyam Nagar, Mahakali Caves, SEEPZ Village, Saki Vihar Road, Rambaug, Powai Lake, IIT- Powai, Kanjur Marg (W) and Vikhroli (EEH).
