Students stranded in school buses along the Gandhi Market stretch in Sion were brought to safety at Matunga Police Station

The IMD has issued a red alert in the city, in effect until 4 pm on Monday

Several parts of the city recorded 100+ mm rainfall in just four hours between 8 am and 12 pm 

Amid the downpour, a Don Bosco School bus got stuck in severe waterlogging near Matunga Police Station. Inside the bus, six children, two lady staff members, and the driver were trapped for nearly an hour

Acting immediately, a senior police inspector and his team reached the spot and rescued everyone within two minutes and brought them safely to the police station

The police provided biscuits to the children to comfort them after the ordeal
