The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai on Sunday, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places across the city and suburbs. PIC/SHADAB KHAN

The forecast also includes the possibility of occasional gusty winds reaching 40–50 kmph, with gusts likely up to 60 kmph. PIC/SHADAB KHAN

The Colaba observatory reported a high of 26.8 degrees Celsius and a low of 24 degrees Celsius, as per the latest Mumbai weather updates. PIC/SHADAB KHAN

Meanwhile, in the 24-hour period ending at 8 am on Sunday, the city recorded widespread rainfall of 92.81 mm. PIC/SHADAB KHAN

The IMD's Santacruz observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 26.3 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 24 degrees Celsius on Sunday. PIC/SATEJ SHINDE

In the past 24 hours, Mumbai's western suburbs registered 103.98 mm rainfall while the eastern suburbs recorded 78.15 mm. PIC/SATEJ SHINDE

Meanwhile, the water levels in lakes supplying drinking water to Mumbai have risen following heavy rainfall in their catchment areas. According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) data, the combined stock in the seven reservoirs that provide water to the city now stands at 90.68 per cent. PIC/SATEJ SHINDE
