Meanwhile, Mumbai's air quality improved on Monday during the day. The city recorded an air quality index (AQI) of 40, placing it in the ‘good’ category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board’s SAMEER app

Marine Drive, Mumbai’s otherwise crowded hangout spot, was left relatively empty as the city sizzled

Meanwhile, across Maharashtra, Malegaon recorded the highest temperature at 40 degrees Celsius, followed by Parbhani (39.4 degrees Celsius) and Solapur (39.2 degrees Celsius). Several other cities, including Aurangabad, Osmanabad, Satara, and Udgir, also reported temperatures above 37 degrees Celsius
