According to the IMD, light to moderate rain is expected to begin in Mumbai from Thursday, gradually intensifying into heavy showers between September 27 and 29

The department has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Goa, and the entire Konkan belt, indicating the possibility of intense rainfall that could potentially disrupt daily life, including road and rail transport

The return of rain is expected to bring much-needed respite from the heat, but authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious

Meanwhile, citizens are making the most of the dry spell, with visits to beaches and promenades

The brief pause in rainfall serves as a reminder of Mumbai’s unpredictable weather patterns
