A fire broke out at the iconic Kitab Khana bookstore inside the over 160-year-old Somaiya Bhavan next to Flora-Fountain in Fort, early in the evening on 9th December. The popular bookstore that has a stock of about 72,000 books at any given time, was affected by the fire and will be temporarily closed while the owners ascertain the damage.
