Mumbai gets unseasonal rain due to a 'wind discontinuity' phenomenon

Mumbai as well as other parts of Maharashtra experienced light to moderate rainfall accompanied by heavy cloud cover and sharp winds in the evening on 18th February. This reportedly occurred due to a “wind discontinuity” phenomenon that has been passing through the state since 16th February. Rainfall was reported in Pune, Thane, Nashik, and Palghar as well.
