Campaigning on the final day of the Baramati bypoll, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar has the "full potential" to carry forward late Ajit Pawar's vision.
Asserting that her work over the past two months reflects capable leadership, Fadnavis appealed to Baramati voters to ensure a record victory for Sunetra as a tribute to Ajit Pawar, who died in a plane crash at Baramati on January 28.

Fadnavis said that with over 35 years in politics, he has developed the ability to identify capable leaders. "In the last two to three months of working with Sunetra, I have realised that she has strong and effective leadership qualities, especially to take forward Ajit Dada's vision," he said.
Addressing a public gathering, Sunetra said she would carry forward the vision and legacy of her late husband, asserting that "no one can take Dada's place," while thanking leaders across party lines, especially NCP-SP MP Supriya Sule and party chief Sharad Pawar, for their support. Calling herself the "better half of a fighter," she asserted that she would continue working for Baramati with determination as long as the people stood by her.
Emphasising justice, Sunetra demanded a thorough investigation and strict punishment for those responsible for the plane crash, adding that both the state and central governments are extending full support. This was the first time Sunetra spoke about the accident. She mentioned that like the way others have doubts in their mind about the plane crash, she too has similar doubts. CM Fadnavis also said that the government will not sit quietly until the truth comes to light.
Sunetra announced plans for an Ajit Pawar museum, which will showcase his political journey and leadership, aiming to inspire future generations.
The by-elections were necessitated following the demise of Ajit Pawar, who represented Baramati, and Shivajirao Kardile, the sitting BJP MLA from Rahuri. Voting for both constituencies will be held on April 23, while the counting of votes will take place on May 4.
