'Ex-judges' panel to probe claims'

Says activist Anna Hazare, who has so far defended his 'controversial' key aides

To witness whether the appointment of retired judges to probe allegations against members of Team Anna will satisfy Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh or not is going to be quite interesting.



According to Prashant Bhushan, Anna Hazare has decided to set up a committee of retired judges to probe against allegations levelled against members of his team. "In view of the recent controversies against some members, we will approach retired judges and ask them to become part of a committee.

Bhushan has been delegated the task of consulting retired judges and seeking their consent for being on the panel," said a Team Anna member. The panel is expected to be formed within a fortnight. "This was decided by Anna himself," said Bhushan.

Although Anna Hazare himself had defended his aides, the committee will go into allegations levelled against prominent team members such as Kiran Bedi, Arvind Kejriwal and others.

It may be recalled that Kiran Bedi was recently in news over a controversy after it came to light that she overcharged her hosts by inflating travel bills. Similarly, charges have been levelled against Kejriwal that he has allegedly diverted donations, meant for Hazare-led 'India against Corruption,' to his trust.

Defending Kejriwal, Anna had said that it was he who decided to deposit the donations in the account of the trust run by Kejriwal.

More members may be ousted
After sacking blogger Raju Parulekar, Team Anna may keep sever ties with few more members who joined them in later stages and wanted respectable positions. According to sources in Team Anna, they are suspicious about few more members, who may be moles. "Raju Parulekar can be part of a bigger conspiracy as he video-graphed the meeting of the core committee silently. Even Parulekar has claimed that he has the video proof against Manish Sisodia in which Anna is suspecting against him," a source said. According to sources, Parulekar may make the video public, in which Anna is suspecting some of the team members. As soon as Team Anna got this information, they sacked the blogger.
