A week after the class one student, Brigu Malik, was knocked down allegedly by a management employee of Rajhans Vidyalaya in Andheri, his father has lodged an FIR at DN Nagar police station.
The accused, Ajay Naik, was arrested on October 29 but was let off on bail as he had come with his advocate, said an official requesting anonymity.
The boy was hit by a Maruti 800 car at around 11am during snacks time on October 23. The boy was rushed to Nanavati hospital by his father and two of the teachers. He was operated on immediate basis in the same evening and was then shifted to the Intensive Care Unit and later to the normal pediatric ward late at night.
Malik was, however, discharged on October 27 and has been asked to be on complete bed rest for next 6-8 weeks.
The school has been warned to restrict four wheelers into the premises, confirmed a police official, however, when MiD DAY visited the school on October 30 we found that all kind of vehicles were allowed inside the compound.
"The accused was arrested, however, he was let off on bail as it is a bailable offence. We have confiscated the car and have called the RTO officer for further investigation. A warning is also given to the school for not allowing any type of vehicles in the premises,'' stated Senior PI Rajendra Chavan, DN Nagar police station.
