(SIMI), if elected.

Speaking to this reporter on the sidelines of his campaign around Singhgad, Shirole alleged, "Bangladeshis are settling in Pune with some inside support."

He added, "False ration cards are being supplied to them with help from within the halls of power."

About SIMI, he said, "If SIMI is active in the city, how can we say Pune is a safe place. Eliminating SIMI will be the actual victory. And then I can say Eureka!"

Keeping fit

Apart from campaigning around Sinhgadh, Shirole also climbed up to the fort, which is situated on a hill that rises 800 m above the surrounding countryside.

Invigorated by the visit, Shirole said, "I climb the hill every Sunday at 5.30 am. This is not a problem for me at all as I prefer to stay fit."
