Air force officials have recovered the flight data recorder, or the black box, from the site of Tuesday's Sukhoi crash at Wadebolai village.

"The flight data recorder (FDR) of the ill-fated Sukhoi which crashed on 13th December has been retrieved safely. As of now, it has been planned to continue only with emergent and limited flying on Sukhoi at this base till FDR information is fully analysed.u00a0

Air Marshal A K Gogoi, Air Officer Commanding of the South Western Air Command (SWAC), visited the Lohegaon base on 14 December in this connection.u00a0

He was given first-hand information in the incident and sequence of the events which led to the crash on Tuesday afternoon. He also visited the hospital and met the pilots who had ejected safely," said a statement from the Lohegaon air base.
