Two undertrials lodged in a jail here and a jail guard were hospitalized on Wednesday after consuming what police suspect was "bhang" (hemp)-laced milk, late on Tuesday night, officials said.
An FIR has been filed at the Mapusa Police Station under Section 328 of the Indian Penal Code (causing hurt by poisoning) against another undertrial Anil Bhue by the authorities of Colvale Central Jail, located in North Goa district. Bhue allegedly prepared the bhang-laced milk and gave it to the two undertrials -- Babu Arolkar and Vinay Gadekar -- and jail guard Kiran Naik on the occasion of Mahashivratri festival on Tuesday night.
