The special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on Wednesday allowed the jail superintendent's plea to lodge Udhampur terror attack accused, Muhammad Naveed, and his two accomplices, away from other prisoners

Jammu: The special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court here on Wednesday allowed the jail superintendent's plea to lodge Udhampur terror attack accused, Muhammad Naveed, and his two accomplices, away from other prisoners.

The superintendent of Kotbalwal jail in Jammu district had moved the application to transfer Naveed, and his accomplices - Showkat Ahmad Bhat and Khurshid Ahmad Bhat - to the observation block instead of the general barrack with other inmates.

The prison official pleaded that other inmates could pose a threat to the lives of three accused. Judge Y.P. Kotwal allowed the transfer.

On Tuesday, police arrested the owner-cum-conductor of the truck that had carried the LeT terrorists to Udhampur from Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district.

The LeT terrorists had on August 5 attacked a BSF bus, killing two troopers and injuring 11, in Udhampur district.
