That's the question police were asking when a student was found unconscious at Karkardooma Metro station after he fell 40 feet
A 19-year-old student was found unconscious after he allegedly jumped off the Karkardooma Metro Station into the parking lot on Sunday afternoon. The police are yet to identify whether the incident was a suicide attempt or an accident since there is no CCTV camera available at the Metro station. The height of the platform from where he jumped is around 40 feet from the ground.
Inderjeet has just passed his 12th boards from CBSE scoring average marks. He has applied for a correspondence course at Delhi University. He also assists his father at his plastic factory.
"Inderjeet left his home 3-4 days ago. He was angry with his family due to some reasons. But the family and Inderjeet were in touch over the phone. His family requested him many times to come back. But he always refused to stay with them," said a police officer.
Inderjeet was taken to Hedgewar Hospital, where his condition is stated to be stable.
"Since yesterday my child hasn't taken any food so due to weakness he fainted and might have fallen off. He became unconscious," said Manjeet Singh, Inderjeet's father.
"Inderjeet's family members told us that he was having some problems and would get angry very soon. He was very short-tempered. He had many fights with his family. We are investigating this matter for further information. And Inderjeet is unfit for a statement now," said Vijay Kumar, Sub Inspector at Anand Vihar.
Police sources said the family might be trying to hide the fact that he had attempted suicide as it would lead to a case against Inderjeet.
