The body of a BPO employee who died in an accident was found abandoned a kilometre from the mishap spot. It is suspected that the people who were responsible for the accident were taking the injured person to a hospital but dumped the body when he died on the way.

The Wanawadi police suspect it was the doing of a Ford Icon car owner and three people who were present with him.The body was recovered from an isolated spot near the racecourse yesterday morning. According to the police, the accident took place at a bridge on B T Kavade Road in the wee hours yesterday.

The dead person was identified as Mayur Gujar (22), a resident of Meera Society. The police came to know that Gujar met with an accident as they recovered his licence and confirmed from his parents that the bike found on the bridge was his.

The police also recovered a broken number plate (MH12 BB4696) on the bridge where Gujar is believed to have met with the accident.

The Wanawadi police registered an offence against the driver of the Ford for causing a fatal accident. "We have traced the vehicle which allegedly caused the accident and we are sure we will be able to arrest the driver of the car very soon," Assistant Police Inspector Prasad Sanas said.
