The latest incident comes days after another Air India flight from Mumbai to London was diverted to Zurich following an air traffic control-related disruption at London Heathrow Airport.
Flight AI131, carrying more than 290 passengers, landed at Zurich Airport after the disruption affected operations at Heathrow.
Passengers initially remained onboard the aircraft at Zurich and were asked to wait as the situation at Heathrow was expected to be resolved. However, the flight was later cancelled and passengers were asked to disembark.

Meanwhile, the disruption was linked to a technical issue in the UK's air traffic control system, which affected flight operations at several major airports, including Heathrow.
The incident resulted in widespread delays and cancellations across the UK.
Flight tracking service FlightRadar reported that more than 1,000 flights had been cancelled across UK airports following the technical failure at a NATS air traffic control facility.
