Air India has announced the launch of direct flights between Delhi and Jaisalmer, introducing a double daily service starting October 26, 2025. The seasonal flights will operate until March 28, 2026, aimed at meeting the surge in tourist traffic to Rajasthan's desert city during the peak winter season.
The airline will deploy its Airbus A320 aircraft on the route, making it the only carrier to offer a full-service flying experience to Jaisalmer. With two flights a day, passengers will have greater flexibility to plan their travel, whether for leisure or business.
According to the airline, the new service has been strategically scheduled to provide smooth onward connections to international destinations in Europe and the UK, as well as to key domestic cities via Delhi. This move is expected to strengthen Jaisalmer's accessibility for both Indian and global travellers eager to experience its historic forts, desert landscapes, and cultural heritage.
Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India, said the launch highlights the airline's commitment to promoting cultural tourism. He added that the new services to Jaisalmer open the doors to India's Golden City for travellers seeking its timeless charm and for those who prefer to fly full-service. He noted that this seasonal service not only caters to the growing demand for cultural tourism but also underscores Air India's dedication to making India's heritage more accessible through seamless air travel.
The flights will operate twice daily, with the first service departing from Delhi at 7:20 am and arriving in Jaisalmer at 8:50 am. The return flight will leave Jaisalmer at 9:25 am and land in Delhi at 10:55 am. The second service of the day will depart Delhi at 12:50 pm and reach Jaisalmer at 2:20 pm, while the return leg will take off from Jaisalmer at 2:55 pm and arrive in Delhi at 4:25 pm.
Tickets for the new flights are now available across multiple booking platforms, including Air India's official website, mobile app, and through authorised travel agents.
The addition of Jaisalmer to Air India's winter network reflects the growing importance of Rajasthan as a global travel destination. With enhanced connectivity and full-service offerings, the airline expects strong passenger uptake from both domestic and international markets eager to explore India's Golden City.
