Bigger and brighter seems to be the motto at the new Nail Spa in town Dash of colour: Nilanthi De Livera has a chain of nail spas in Sri Lanka
Fashion is not just limited to clothes and accessories anymore. Bangloreans are now shelling out serious money for nice nails.u00a0u00a0
The Nail Spa, at Salon Nayana in Koramangala, has trained professionals who work on nail extensions and nail art. Nilanthi De Livera, who started the Nail Spa here, has a similar chain in Colombo.u00a0
What to expect
The Nail Spa menu, which Nilanthi has crafted, offers regular manicures, pedicures, French manicures and pedicures, nail extensions, acrylic nails for those with weak nails, sculptured nails and nail art.
The Mango Hand Peel is a gentle exfoliant treatment that lifts dead cells from the skin's surface, leaving your hands as smooth as silk. The one-hour treatment starts with the application of Cuccio mango hand peel, followed by a massage with a papaya lotion. The hands are then kept in heated mittens for five minutes.
There are innovative treatments offered like the Kava Pedicure, Thai reflexology and Paraffin treatment for tired feet.
For busy people, the spa has express manicures. There's also a special spa menu for men who can pamper themselves with Gentleman's Hand Facial (spa manicure and hand massage), quick manicures, hand peels, exfoliation treatments and pedicures.
Wear your art
For those of you who love your long nails, here is another reason to let them grow. The nail experts at Nail Spa create a miniature mural on your nails with creative use of semi-precious stones, stickers, acrylic paint and foil.
The manicurist filed my nails to match the shape of the nail bed. Tut-tutting over the condition of my nails, sheu00a0 massaged a cuticle softening cream. This was followed by a cuticle removing lotion around the nail bed to slough off the dry cuticles. My nails were shining already. Post a quick massage, my buffed nails got a nail-strengthening base coat, followed by peach polish. My toenails were painted with a boat sailing on waves, in the shadow of a palm tree. An orange blob, indicating the sun, peeped out of the branches. Hey, presto, there was Goa at my feet!u00a0u00a0
