In Singapore, a business delegation from West Bengal spearheaded by Industries Minister Partha Chatterjee faced embarrassment when one of its own delegates, Jayanto Roy, scion of the Peerless group and MD of its financial products division, said that no poriborton has taken place in the state during the past year contrary to the government's claims.

To add salt to the wound, he declared that a lot was done during Jyoti Basu's tenure. Nothing much has happened in West Bengal since.

Meanwhile, it is said that Didi is hopping mad and wants to know who selected the delegation.

The delegation actually was an alumni meet of old Xaverians who wished to raise funds for their alma mater and was doubling up as an official delegation because the Industries Minister was piggybacking on their moneybags.
