A police constable was suspended after a purported video showing him using an AK-47 rifle during a student protest in Bihar's Siwan district on July 25 went viral on social media.
Siwan SP Puran Kumar Jha said, "The constable has been suspended. Immediate departmental proceedings have also been initiated against him." "No one was injured in the firing,".
The Congress slammed the BJP over the alleged incident, with Rahul Gandhi demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's apology and action against those who "attacked" the students.
In a post on X, Gandhi said, "The entire system is downright murderous against students. Reports are coming in that AK-47s have been fired at protesting students."
