The Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum and Amrit Udyan will remain closed to visitors from Friday to Sunday in view of security and logistical arrangements for the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit.
The Change of Guard Ceremony will also not be held at the Forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday, an official statement said, IANS reported.
The closure is aimed at minimising inconvenience to BRICS delegates and avoiding congestion on roads by restricting public visits to areas close to the summit venue.
The Delhi Metro will also keep its museum at the Supreme Court Metro station closed for three days from Friday.
Meanwhile, the Delhi government had earlier declared a holiday for its offices today. The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions subsequently issued an official circular declaring September 11 a holiday for Central government offices.
The Delhi Traffic Police has also informed the public about changes to the dates of official work and legal proceedings in courts, particularly those located near the BRICS Summit 2026 venue at Bharat Mandapam.
According to a traffic police advisory, the National Lok Adalat scheduled for September 12 will now be held on October 10.
As subordinate courts will observe holidays on September 11 and 12, cases listed for these two dates will now be taken up on September 14, the advisory said.
The traffic police urged litigants to check the revised date of their court case or the Lok Adalat before leaving home and avoid unnecessary travel to the high-security, traffic-regulated zone.
Ahead of the international event, the Delhi Traffic Police has been conducting rehearsals to manage traffic movement during the summit.
As part of traffic management drills planned from Friday to Sunday, September 11 to 13, the Traffic Police has planned diversions at 22 points, with regulated traffic movement on more than 35 roads.
During the trial runs, traffic restrictions and diversions were enforced between 10 am and 3 pm for a motorcade rehearsal ahead of the BRICS Business Forum and the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit.
September 12 and 13, being Saturday and Sunday, are expected to be relatively less challenging for traffic managers handling summit-related arrangements.
The Delhi Traffic Police has urged citizens and cab service providers to go through the advisories for routes where movement will be restricted during the BRICS Summit 2026 in the national capital.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dinesh Kumar Gupta said advisories were being shared with the public through the Delhi Police website, Facebook, X, Instagram and print media to minimise inconvenience during the movement of delegates.
"We have 22 diversion points in place, under which we will divert traffic from designated points. We have also briefed our staff to guide people, wherever needed, regarding the diverted routes," Gupta said, IANS reported.
