In search of Swami Pratimanand, a spiritual leader and suspect in the murder of BSP leader and business tycoon Deepak Bhradwaj here March 26, investigators Thursday raided several places in Jhajjar in Haryana, Delhi Police said.

Following the arrest of two contract killers, Sunil Mann alias Sonu and Purushottam Rana alias Monu, police claimed getting clues about the suspected involvement of the spiritual leader with whom Bhardwaj is believed to be involved in a land dispute.

The over 30 acre plot of land is situated in Haryana's Jhajjar area.

Bhardwaj was gunned down by Mann and Rana at his 35-acre farmhouse in Rajokri in south Delhi.

The separate teams of Delhi Police crime branch and south district visited Dhansa village close to the road linking Jhajjar and Delhi and collected evidence. They also questioned a few associates of the spiritual guru.

In 2002, Bhardwaj purchased 12 acres of land near the ancestral land of Pratimanand's guru late Baba Kakanand.

Sources said that the realtor wanted to purchase Kakanand's land too. To fix the deal, he contacted Pratimanand who refused to help, triggering a dispute between the two.

Police also suspect that Pratimanand took the help of Rakesh Malik, a commercial pilot, who hired the shooters Mann and Rana to kill Bhardwaj.

On Thursday, police called Bhardwaj's younger son Nitesh for joining the police investigation.

Police have not ruled out the role of any family member of Bhardwaj in the murder. They have also questioned Bhardwaj's wife Ramesh Kumari.
