Vedprakash Suraj Pratap Mishra, the son of a builder, was rushed to Rukmani hospital in Kalyan by neighbours and family members, but was declared dead on arrival.
The victim was a resident of Durga apartment in Kalyan and is the son of a partner in the Saket Group.
Mishra went into his bedroom at around 6 pm yesterday and fired a round from the revolver into his head.
DCP Manoj Patil from the Kalyan zone said, "The reason for him committing suicide is still not clear. We are currently recording statements from his family members. The revolver was unlicensed."
The body has been sent for post-mortem. u00a0
