As per the official press note, the competition was held on October 9 and 10 at the Grand Hyatt, Bolgatty, Kochi, as part of c0c0n 2026, an international security and hacking conference.

Badola was felicitated by Kerala Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan for his achievement.

The competition was organised by Kerala Police in collaboration with the Information Security Research Association (ISRA).

The c0c0n 2026 conference brought together cybersecurity professionals and law-enforcement personnel to discuss emerging cyber threats, security technologies and investigative capabilities.

Participants represented various law-enforcement organisations, including state police units, intelligence agencies and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).

CISF participates for the first time

The 2026 edition marked CISF's first participation in the competition. Badola's second-place finish highlights the role of specialised technical expertise in strengthening the force's capabilities to address emerging cyber threats.

With critical infrastructure increasingly dependent on digital systems, cybersecurity and digital investigation skills have become important components of the broader security landscape.

The CISF continues to emphasise professional competence and technological preparedness as part of its responsibility to secure critical infrastructure across the country.

Badola's performance at LEA CTF 2.0 marks a notable achievement for the force, underscoring the growing importance of cybersecurity proficiency and digital investigation capabilities in modern law enforcement.
