The Cockroach Janta CJP (CJP) has announced plans to resume peaceful youth mobilisations across the country, culminating in a protest march in New Delhi on September 5, 2026.
The announcement followed a meeting of the CJP's National Working Committee, which reviewed what it described as the Union government's compliance with assurances made to people on July 25.
In a letter, posted on X, the CJP alleged that the government had failed to fulfil its commitments, particularly its assurance to withdraw First Information Reports (FIRs) registered against students who took part in protests.
According to the CJP, the earlier demonstrations were suspended as a gesture of goodwill after the assurances were made at a joint press conference on July 25.
It has now decided to restart its peaceful mobilisation, citing a lack of progress on the commitments.
The proposed protest in Delhi will include a peaceful march from India Gate to the new Delhi Police Headquarters.
According to the CJP, the march will be led by families of deceased National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) victims and people who were allegedly affected by police action.
Students and youth groups from different parts of the country are also expected to participate.
The CJP has raised concerns over delays in withdrawing the FIRs registered against protesting students.
It said the Supreme Court had sought a comprehensive list of the FIRs on August 18 so that the cases could be considered for quashing together.
It alleged that the Union government had not given clear commitments before the court or provided the written assurances it had promised.
The CJP described the situation as a betrayal of young people who had suspended their protests after receiving assurances from the authorities.
It has called on student organisations and young citizens to gather at India Gate on September 5 for the planned demonstration.
It said its decision to continue seeking a peaceful resolution should not be interpreted as weakness.
The proposed mobilisation is expected to focus on the withdrawal of FIRs and the implementation of commitments made to protesting students and youth.
