Are they really going to help firemen?" asked MNS corporator Rupali Patil.
"Administration should immediately stop purchase order of these helmets. There are many unanswered questions, like when total staff of fire department is 550, why order of only 350 helmets have been placed?" Vasant More, also from MNS, said.
Replying to all these allegations, additional municipal commissioner Rajendra Jagtap made it clear that the work order of helmets is yet to be placed.
"These helmets have the capability to sustain heat up to 1,000 degree Celsius. It will protect firemen while working in hazardous situations," Jagtap said. u00a0
