Police believe that killers would have visited one of the petrol pumps to get their bike refueled; will check hotels to find out if anybody hasn't returned to check out after the murder

The teams that were formed to investigate the killing of Dr Narendra Dabholkar have been asked to check all city hotels and lodges to see if they can find anyone who hasn't returned to check out or to return the room keys after the murder took place.

A police officer, part of the review meeting that was held at the commissionerate yesterday, said, "The assailants, who kept an eye on Dr Dabholkar, may have put up in some hotel or a lodge before. After the murder, they may have not returned back to their room."

The cops have also been asked to collect the CCTV footage from petrol pumps. "It's quite possible that the killers would have visited one of the petrol pumps to get their bike refueled," he added.

Meanwhile, Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Sanjeevkumar Singhal said that their investigation is on the right track. "We are trying to find out if it was an individual or an organization that is behind the murder," he said.
