The Patiala House Court in Delhi on Thursday remanded four accused who were recently arrested in connection with the Delhi Red Fort blast case to a 10-day custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The special NIA court on Thursday granted 10-day custody of Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai of Pulwama, Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather of Anantnag, Dr Shaheen Saeed of Lucknow, and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay of Shopian to the NIA.
The ANI reported, the Principal District and Sessions Judge (Special NIA judge) Anju Bajaj Chandana remanded the four accused in NIA custody for 10 days for further probe into the November 10 blast.
The NIA had initial sought 15 days' remand of the accused to investigate and ascertain their further role in the case. However, the court granted 10 days of custody to the agency, the news agency reported.
Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), while issuing a statement, mentioned that "It has arrested four more prime accused involved in the November 10 blast outside the Red Fort in Delhi, taking the total number of arrests in the case to six.
The four accused were taken into custody by NIA in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on production orders from the District Sessions Judge, Patiala House Court," as cited by ANI.
The investigation agency probing the Delhi Red Fort blast also said that it had earlier arrested two other accused - Amir Rashid Ali, in whose name the car used in the blast was registered, and Jasir Bilal Wani, alias Danish, who had provided technical aid to the terrorist involved in the deadly attack.
As per news agency ANI, the interrogation in relation to the blast case is continuing as part of NIA's efforts to unravel the complete terror conspiracy in the case.
The anti-terror agency, which was handed over the investigation by the Union Home Ministry soon after the attack, is working closely with various state police forces to track and arrest every member of the terrorist module involved in the carnage, reported ANI.
In view of uncovering the alleged terror attack, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have also recovered a mobile phone of the Red Fort suicide bomber, Dr Umar-un-Nabi, and the extracted data has provided chilling evidence to show that he had prepared a video justifying the suicide attack as a âmartyrdom operation'.
As reported by news agencies, Umar was driving the explosive-laden car that blasted outside Red Fort on November 10, killing 15 people.
Officials further said that, "The critical evidence was unearthed after the detention and subsequent interrogation of Zahoor Illahi, his brother, who was detained by the Jammu police."
