As Japanese Prime Minister (PM) Sanae Takaichi concluded her official visit to India on Friday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said it reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to nurture a partnership that is pivotal to their shared growth and prosperity, news agency PTI reported.
The MEA said the India-Japan partnership also serves as an anchor for promoting peace, prosperity, and stability in the Indo-Pacific and beyond, and described the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit as "highly successful".

She was seen off by Minister of State DrJitendraSingh," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal posted on X.
He also shared photographs of the send-off in New Delhi.
Takaichi, who was in India at the invitation of PM Narendra Modi to attend the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit, concluded her three-day visit on Friday.
The two leaders held talks at Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Thursday to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
During the summit, India and Japan announced a series of major initiatives, including an economic partnership framework, a defence pact for the co-development of military hardware, and measures to deepen energy cooperation to address oil supply disruptions.
"The visit reaffirmed the commitment of both sides to nurture a partnership pivotal to the shared growth and prosperity of both countries and an anchor for promoting peace, prosperity and stability in the Indo-Pacific and beyond," Jaiswal said in another post on X.
The Japanese PM was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday morning in the presence of PM Modi.
This was Takaichi's first official visit to India.
Briefing reporters on Thursday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri described the visit as "extremely successful" and highlighted the "exceptional breadth and depth" of the summit's outcomes.
He also said the two leaders discussed the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Japan, which will be marked in 2027 as the India-Japan Year of Shared Horizons.
In another post on X on Thursday, Jaiswal said, "Taking forward a partnership anchored in trust, shared values and strategic convergence".
Ahead of the visit, the MEA had said on Wednesday that Takaichi's visit marked an "important step" in advancing the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership.
