Six feet high, the skeleton was found on the bank of the Kuklung River by villagers of Nakrapatiguri during a pilgrimage trip on February 24, according to Divisional Forest Officer Brahmananda Patiri.
A villager carted it home and local journalists informed forest officials who seized it yesterday. The case has been reported to the Wildlife Trust of India, Gauhati University's Zoology Department, the Veterinary College in Guwahati and other animal experts for verification.u00a0
