Kargil Vijay Diwas: Narendra Modi salutes soldiers for their sacrifice

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Indian Military services for their bravery, prowess and sacrifices on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

The Prime Minister also tweeted that Kargil Diwas was a day when we are reminded about how the Indian Military makes sacrifices to keep us safe. He added that he remembers all the martyrs of the was who fought gallantly to keep the country safe.

The Kargil war was fought between India and Pakistan after Pakistani troops occupied Indian posts in Jammu and Kashmir's Ladakh region. The war was fought for three months after which the Indian troops regained the captured posts.
