Maharashtra: Man attacks wife, seven-year-old son with sharp weapon in Nashik; attempts to kill self

A man in Maharashtra's Nashik district brutally assaulted his wife and seven-year-old son on Monday and later attempted to kill himself, officials said.

According to IANS, the police said that the accused launched the attack on his family before attempting to kill himself. The motive behind the deadly attack is unclear, though repeated altercations and squabbles over marital life are believed to be the key reason.

Accused's son and wife seriously injured

The police, after getting information about the incident, reached the spot only to find the wife and son in a deeply wounded state. The police rushed them to the hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

The injured woman, identified as Ashwini Hazare, and her son were first admitted to a nearby hospital and later shifted to the government hospital.

The police found in its initial investigation that the accused pounced upon his wife and son with a sharp-edged object. The man, identified as Kiran Hazare, attacked his wife on the back side of her head while he hit his seven-year-old son on his neck.

As per IANS, the couple Ashwin and Kiran got married in 2017. This was their second marriage. Kiran Hazare was engaged in supplying oxygen to hospitals and also ran a business installing solar panels.

Man in Nashik kills his ex-girlfriend

In another incident in Nashik, a chilling case of obsession turned into murder surfaced on Sunday, July 19.

The accused, identified as Sahil Lavhare, killed his former girlfriend Vaishnavi by stabbing her to death and also called up her fiancé about the act.

The incident took place on Friday night. Lavhare and Vaishnavi met near Vansampada Garden in Nashik's Indiranagar area.

According to IANS, an argument broke out between the two, which continued for around 30 minutes. In a fit of rage, the accused then repeatedly stabbed the woman, who died on the spot.

Following the incident, Sahil killed himself after allegedly murdering Vaishnavi. Hours later, the accused's body was found just two kilometres from the crime scene.
