Pune: School bus catches fire in Wakad after dropping over 35 students, no injuries reported

In a tragic incident, a school bus caught fire in the Wakad area near the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway while returning after dropping more than 35 students at Indira School.

According to IANS, the bus driver noticed a burning smell followed by smoke while the vehicle was on its way back. He immediately stopped the bus and stepped out safely after noticing the fire.

The fire subsequently intensified, prompting firefighters to rush to the spot. Fire personnel launched an operation to bring the fire under control and later extinguished the blaze.

Fortunately, no students were on board when the bus caught fire, as the driver had already dropped off more than 35 students at the school.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
